The production index — a composite of liveability, weight, feed efficiency and days — is the single most useful number here, because it rolls several performance drivers into one figure. A move from 454 to 506 is a meaningful commercial gain at flock scale.
An honest read
We think credibility matters more than hype, so here is the balanced view:
- What it shows: at commercial scale, water-dosed Super Zinc was associated with better body weight, a higher production index and improved foot-pad scores versus a control flock.
- What it doesn't show: a field trial on working farms is not a controlled university study. Genetics, season, house and management all influence results, and a single trial cannot isolate every variable. We make no disease-prevention or treatment claims from it.
- Reproducibility: Super Zinc has been used on commercial farms since 2022 with consistent producer feedback; we provide the full data package for due diligence and encourage a local trial on your own birds.
The companion pig trial
A separate trial conducted with a major Taiwanese feed group at a Nantou farm added 12 ppm to sow feed and saw an improved live-born piglet ratio at negligible added cost per farrowing pen. Notably, that report was candid that it could not demonstrate an effect on gut/diarrhea outcomes under its conditions — the kind of honesty we'd rather show than hide.

This trial was conducted in Taiwan and documented on the manufacturer's side. ZnoNova did not run it.
Two consequences follow, and we would rather state them here than have you find them yourself:
- If you find the same figures on another company's website, it is the same underlying manufacturer trial — not an independent replication. Treat it as one trial. Counting it as two would overstate the evidence, and a careful buyer will notice.
- It is a commercial field trial, not a controlled academic study. A treated flock against a control flock on a working farm. That makes it operationally realistic and statistically weaker than a randomised pen trial. Both halves of that sentence are true and both matter.

What we are still requesting from the manufacturer: farm identity, exact dates, breed, the manufacturing lot used in the trial, and written confirmation that the current commercial product is equivalent to the lot trialled.
