Most nanopowder suppliers sell a catalogue and let you adapt around it. We work the other way: you state the number you need to hit, and the composite is developed toward it. This page explains exactly how that runs, what we need from you, and where we will tell you no.

Why a catalogue grade often fails

Catalogue nanopowders are made to a general specification, so a formulator ends up compensating: adjusting loading, adding a dispersant, changing process temperature, accepting a colour shift. Each compensation costs weeks, and some are dead ends. The parameters that would have solved it — ratio, particle size, carbon type, morphology, surface treatment — were fixed before you ever saw the product.

Those are exactly the parameters we leave open. On this platform the composition is a starting point rather than a constraint, which is why the first question we ask is not "how much do you need?" but "what has to be true for this to work in your product?"

Composition

The ZnO-to-carbon ratio, and whether the balance should favour adsorption capacity or surface activity.

Particle size, both phases

Oxide and carbon particle size are specified separately, because they do different jobs.

Carbon selection

Precursor and activation route determine pore structure and adsorption selectivity — often the highest-leverage choice.

Morphology

Affects packing, dispersion and how much surface is genuinely reachable in your matrix.

Surface treatment and dispersibility

Specified against your actual medium: aqueous, solvent, or polymer melt.

Supply form

Powder, dispersion, or masterbatch — so it fits your line instead of forcing a new step.

Where we will say no

Stated in advance, because it saves everyone time

  • Where the target is not physically reachable on this platform. We say so at the feasibility stage, early and free, rather than taking a development fee for something we do not believe will work.
  • Where colour is disqualifying. The composite is black. For white or pale products, no amount of development changes that.
  • Where the claim you want cannot be supported. We will not generate a performance claim we cannot measure, and we will not supply data from a different product to stand in for this one.
ℹ️ A feasibility answer of "no" is given early and at no charge. We would rather be the supplier who told you it would not work than the one who took six months to discover it with your money.

FAQ

Can you develop a custom composition rather than sell a standard grade?

Yes, that is the core of this product. The ZnO-to-carbon ratio, particle size of each phase, carbon selection, morphology, surface treatment and supply form are all open parameters specified against your application, rather than fixed in a catalogue.

How does the development process work?

Four stages: we turn your requirement into a written target; we assess feasibility and tell you honestly whether it is achievable; we make a trial batch with test data measured on that batch; and after your validation we supply against the agreed specification with per-batch CoA.

What do you need from me to start?

The application, the property you need to move, a target value if you have one, the medium and process the material must survive, any hard constraints such as colour, temperature or regulatory limits, and an indication of volume. An NDA can be in place before detailed discussion.

What if the target is not achievable?

We tell you at the feasibility stage, early and at no charge. We do not take development fees for projects we do not believe will work, and we would rather lose the project than discover the problem six months later at your expense.

Will the trial batch come with data?

Yes, and specifically with data measured on that batch for the properties you named as defining success. We do not substitute test data from other product lines or from published literature on similar materials.

Can the material be supplied as a dispersion or masterbatch?

Yes. Supply form is one of the parameters chosen during development, so the material fits your existing process rather than requiring you to add a step.
