What the material is
A composite of nano zinc oxide and nano activated carbon — not a physical blend of two powders. The two phases bring different functions, and the composite is designed so both stay accessible:

The six parameters we tune with you
1 · ZnO : carbon ratio
The standard grade is roughly 2:1 by weight. Shift toward carbon for adsorption capacity, or toward zinc oxide for surface activity — the balance depends on what the powder is actually being asked to do.
2 · ZnO particle size
The standard grade uses 5 nm zinc oxide. Finer means more surface per gram; coarser can mean easier handling and dispersion. Selected for the application, not for the datasheet.
3 · Carbon type and particle size
Activated carbon differs enormously by precursor and activation route — pore structure, surface chemistry and adsorption selectivity all change. Often the most consequential choice in adsorption-driven applications.
4 · Morphology
The standard grade is flake. Morphology drives packing, dispersion behaviour, and how much surface is actually reachable inside your matrix.
5 · Dispersibility and surface treatment
A powder that disperses in water is not the same powder that disperses in a solvent system or a polymer melt. Surface treatment is specified against the medium you actually use.
6 · Supply form
Dry powder, dispersion, or compounded into a masterbatch — chosen so it drops into your existing process instead of forcing you to add one.

What we will not do
Stated plainly, because it is how we work
- We do not publish performance numbers for this composite that we have not measured on it. Zinc oxide and activated carbon each have well-known functions, but the number that matters is the one measured on your grade in your application — and that is what co-development generates.
- We do not borrow test data from our other product lines to describe this one, even though they share the same nano zinc oxide platform.
- We do not take a development project we do not believe will work. A feasibility answer of "no" is delivered early, and free.

What is nano zinc oxide / activated carbon composite powder used for?
It combines adsorption from nano activated carbon with the surface activity of nano zinc oxide in a single powder. Commercial uses include odour control and air filtration media, antibacterial additives for coatings, plastics and textiles, water treatment and purification media, and metal-oxide/carbon electrode materials for energy storage.
Can the composition be customised?
Yes, that is the point of this product. The ZnO to carbon ratio, zinc oxide particle size, carbon type and particle size, morphology, surface treatment and dispersibility, and the supply form (powder, dispersion or masterbatch) are all specified against your application rather than fixed in a catalogue.
What is the standard grade specification?
ZnO 66.7 plus/minus 2% and activated carbon 33.3 plus/minus 1%, with 5 plus/minus 2 nm zinc oxide and 30 plus/minus 5 nm carbon, flake morphology, black powder, pH 7-8, moisture 0.3% or less, two-year shelf life. It is a starting point for development rather than the only grade available.
Do you publish antibacterial or adsorption performance figures for this composite?
Not for this composite, because performance depends on the grade and the application. Instead we measure the properties that matter to you on the material actually developed for you and supply that data with the trial batch. We do not reuse test data from our other product lines to describe this one.
Is the powder available in other colours?
No. The composite is black because of the carbon phase. For carbon-based filter media, dark polymers and charcoal-themed products this is neutral or advantageous; for white or pale products it is a genuine constraint and we say so up front.
What is the minimum order, and are samples available?
Sample and order quantities depend on the grade and whether development work is involved. Tell us the application, the target specification and the volume you are planning, and we will come back with feasibility, sample terms and a quotation.
